In Maharashtra state, 80% of the education is provided by private educational institutes and societies. Climate Reality India plans to work with the largest educational societies Rayat Shikshan Sanstha.
Maharashtra Foundation is funding the Teachers training program and green campus program in 3 schools at Kolhapur, Sangli and Satara,
*Teachers training program on climate change at individual schools.
*Transforming selected model schools into sustainable and climate-friendly campuses by implementing green measures and recording the changes.
And with continuous, phase-wise and joint efforts of all the organizations, we aim to build capacity in 500 campuses to have climate and sustainable education as part of its education system through trained teachers, principals and students on climate change and sustainable development issues: and transformation of 500 campuses into sustainable and climate friendly campuses with solar panels, rainwater harvesting, waste segregation and composting, energy efficiency fixtures, etc. as a role model.
