Projects::Pure and Safe Drinking Water for School Children

This project is submitted by Grant A Smile Foundation of India, a Pune based NGO established in 1998 and has been running projects such as Grant a Smile, Old Age Home, and Rainbow Home - respite housing for families of children with life threatening illness.

The proposed Pure and Safe Drinking water for school children will be implemented in select 50 schools in rural areas of Pune, Thane and Raigad districts by using the recently developed UF Membrane technology. This technology is approved by National Institute of Virology and the filters are already used for tsunami affected areas, flood affected areas in Andhra Pradesh, colleges under University of Pune in Pune, Nagar and Nasik districts and several schools and hostels.

MF proposes to support this project for installing the filters in 50 selected primary schools in rural areas in Thane, Raigad and Pune districts. Grant A Smile Foundation has necessary technical and administrative capacity to implement this project. Project Cost: $ 40,000 for one year
